Seen & Heard; Trans Visibility

First and foremost: a happy #Pride to ALL souls out there but especially my LGBTQIA+ Community and every beautiful human who falls underneath the colorful rainbow that they choose. We're not leaving anyone out. This month is always so special to me, and while we won’t be parading through the streets for the second June in a row, I still feel it's important to acknowledge all the people who have worked tirelessly to get us where we are now.

With the excitement of a new studio space and new energy, it feels so right that this project should be about welcoming one of the most marginalized communities and making them VISIBLE. This is all about #TransVisibility. #TransRights are so much more than bathrooms and pronouns, they are human rights. It’s so important that they represent themselves telling their story and that we listen. In a year where we’ve seen a lot of growth socially, it’s my hope we can keep moving forward and affect more meaningful change each and every day.

I’ve invited some amazing souls into the studio and shot their portraits in an attempt to give them a platform to use their voices. We’ve made some magic. It’s been such a humbling experience to work with these beautiful individuals. Each of them has such a profound story that they all need to be shared. That’s right!

We’re going to have a *drumroll* Gallery!!! This is huge, y’all. We’ll be printing and framing and hanging these works of art so you will be able to see them in person! The show will take place this summer, but this month we have some work to do. We need your help!

Wearing rainbows is a nice show of solidarity for the LGBTQIA+ community, but if we are to enact the meaningful change we need to do so much more. We’re going to need a variety of sponsors to do this right. Below is a list we've compiled to get a good jump start on a killer show.

  • Event space available in July/August

  • Food and drink

  • Musical accompaniment

  • Monetary donations for the costs of film, developing, printing, matting, framing, and labor.

Help us put this show on properly: I’m calling you to action. Businesses (small and large) or event spaces, let's stand alongside the trans community. Want to help out in other ways? Consider a monetary donation. We have a lot of costs we need to cover to do this right.

To the LGBTQIA+ Community, thank you for letting us share your stories.

So be on the lookout for a coming announcement later this month, and be sure to buy tickets to the show where part of the proceeds will benefit the Trans Community or donate to our GoFundMe to help us kick off this shindig!!! It'll be so much fun. Hope to see you there.

Thank you,

Emma

Really liked how this post kept things simple and didn’t drag on — I could skim it and still get what the writer was trying to say. The tone felt pretty real, like someone explaining it to a friend instead of trying to sound smart. Halfway through I clicked around https://newimage.io/ out of curiosity, and it gave me the same kind of “clean and straightforward” feel without making me hunt for the point. I’m also a sucker for pages that don’t fight you while you scroll, and this one didn’t. Everything’s spaced out nicely, so you don’t lose your spot or get hit with a wall of text. The way the headings break up the content makes the site feel…
