Think Outside The (Chocolate) Box

Roses are red,

Violets are blue.

I'm kinda over the "usual,"

What about you?

Valentine's Day doesn't have to be a major snoozefest. I love love just as much as the next human. It's what makes us human, after all. But it's time we think outside the (chocolate) box and get creative.

Have you ever considered giving your love something that could end up in the hands of your grandkids one day? Make your life-defining moments live on long after the confetti settles. Here are a few of my favorite not-so-traditional Valentine's Day gifts that give Cupid a run for his money.

Who needs a coffee table book designed for any old living room when you can make it a collection of personal memories from some of your most important life events? Consider giving your honey an album from your recent engagement, wedding, family or portrait sesh. These albums are custom designed and can be enjoyed for many years to come!

BONUS: Albums come in a protective box to help keep your gift looking like new for years to come.

BONUS x2: You can customize your album to fit your SO's style and preferences. I'm a big fan of the buttery leather covers.

Experiential gifts are all the rage (for good reason) right now. I recently went on a rustic weekend getaway via The Campfire Experience with my Valentine and captured every minute of it so you know what to expect. Here's a glimpse:

{t h r e e} This one's for my fellow hipsters and history appreciators. Go on the hunt for an old school Viewfinder and wow your Valentine with a custom wheel of photos from a recent trip or photoshoot. I did this for Taylor and she LOVED seeing our photos from our excursions in California.

BONUS: Just look at her. Thar's your bonus. #MyMuse
